The CEO of Marathon Digital Holdings Inc., the largest cryptocurrency mining operator in the United States, shares interesting insights about the upcoming Bitcoin halving event.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, CEO Fred Thiel provides his perspective on the partially factored-in impact of the halving event on the market.
„The ETF approval was a huge success, attracting capital and preemptively driving up the price of Bitcoin, which we would typically expect three to six months later,“ Thiel said.
Marathon operates mining centers in the U.S., including in Texas. The Bitcoin halving, set to occur at the end of April, will reduce rewards for miners, but the impact on price is expected to be minimal.
Bitcoin has experienced strong growth this year, but Tuesday marked its first decline after four trading sessions. It’s estimated that Marathon’s breakeven point after the halving would be around $46,000 per Bitcoin.
